Unable to deal

Today I tried to buy shares in both Oakley Capital Investments and Harbourvest Global Private Equity but Hargreaves Lansdown refused to buy them for me, saying that some piece of information required by the regulators was missing. I tried telling them that I did not need the information and had made the decision to invest but they were unable to help and did not know when the problem would be resolved. Has anybody else had this problem on other platforms?

Thank you for mentioning this issue. It is a particular problem with Hargreaves Lansdown at present. Both of those shares can be bought readily through Interactive Investor, which seems to be a better stockbroker for investment trust dealing. We intend to write something about this.
